Evacuated Tube Collectors(ETC) are a relatively new concept in the solar industry. ETC work well because the vacuum in their tubes virtually eliminates heat losses through convection and conduction. By using a good selective surface on the absorber, the thermal radiation losses are also kept low. This is why performance curves for ETC have such shallow slopes when compared to flat plate or unglazed collectors. ETC can be capable of reaching temperatures of 300 Degree Celsius(572F). ETC are also capable of collecting energy at very low levels of insolation, for example under heavy cloudy cover.

Globe Solar Energy has been focused on ETC for over 5 years. Currently, GSE has developed two ETC solar domestic hot water system in Canada. Both systems have been certified under Germany Solar KeyMark and on the list of Natural Resourse acceptatble collectors.

1. GSE IP-195

IP-195 is the first and only CSA Approved ETC integrated SDHW in Canada. It also certified under Germany Solar Key Mark.

2. GSE SP-25

SP-25 also known as TZ-58, is popular ETC Heat pipe collector in Asian, Europe and North America, it is certified under Germany Solar
KeyMark and USA SRCC. Here is the link to detailed information.
